Making Progress Slowly

...or maybe not so slowly.  Last night, I created this blog site.  This morning, I've been working on a home page where I can hopefully encourage more people to join our ranks and assist those who do in finding information that will help them be effective.  It is a free site hosted by my ISP, so it has some advertising at the top of the page, and the format is not very flexible.  However, there is a links tab that will direct people to a number of sites where they might find answers to their questions, join the NRA, register to vote, and become Frontline volunteers.  These are some of the first and most important steps one can take in the fight to secure our 2A rights.

The only photo so far is one of me with the middle child of my three chocolate labs, Sienna, who was a father's day gift about 5 years ago.  As I learn more about the features of the home page, I may be able to include videos or other relevant media sources of information and news.  I have placed a link to the new site along with my other favorite sites on the left.

Once again, I would appreciate any suggestions for improving either this blog or the new home page.  I'm sure there are plenty of people out there more familiar with how these things work than I am.  Now, I need to go mow the lawn!

In the beginning...

While this is not my first attempt at blogging, I have no experience whatsoever as an NRA-ILA Election Volunteer Coordinator (EVC).  I sincerely hope that all who come here are either already interested in helping to promote our constitutional right to bear arms, or that I can convince them to do so.

I do have a pretty good idea of what is expected of me in this position, and some thoughts about how I will go about it, but I can only hope that my efforts are successful and appreciated.  That will depend a great deal on those who come here to ask questions or make suggestions, and how much they are willing to put forth themselves in the name of gun rights.

The entire purpose for this blog is to provide a place where people can come to find out more about NRA-ILA and, hopefully, what they can do to assist in helping to elect gun-friendly candidates to office or getting gun-friendly legislation passed for the benefit of us all.

Please, feel free to comment, ask questions, or make suggestions, and I will do my best to get the answers or guide you in the right direction.  In the near future, I hope to have links to various related web sites where you can get even more information.  In the mean time, be patient while I get the hang of this.
